For one full year before we held the first service in August 1995, we prayed every step of the way. Reverend Diane E. Plamondon, Ph.D., our pioneering minister, was assisted by others interested in Unity who offered love, encouragement, expertise, and financial and spiritual support.

Our early financial support came from many sources, including people who never intended to be members of our church but were moved to donate. This was a tremendous affirmation from the universe. From a meeting with four people present – many of whom are still connected to the church – we formed a church. Our first service took place in the Ramada Inn in Clear Lake City in August 1995. We have held a weekly Sunday service ever since.

We have faithfully tithe ten percent of every penny received from the beginning to other ministries and certain charities. This law of tithing, of living in conscious cooperation with the creative power of God, is what we know has allowed us to grow and prosper and thrive.

In December 1997, we moved to the Days Inn, but soon the owners decided to raze the property, so we had to move again in September 1998. This time, the first property we saw was the one God intended us to have. It is a 4,200 square-foot building. Our congregation lovingly and immediately gave all that was needed for the move and the renovation of the building.

On September 14th, 2000 we celebrated five years as a church. We received full church status from our Association of Unity Churches. Our charter members were honored in a special service. We continue to grow and prosper!

The seed to own our own church was planted and we began a Building Fund. Within two years, we raised enough money for the down payment of our church home, a former restaurant and bar. God did a mighty work through all involved and we had our first service in November 1996. Since then, we have finished remodeling the interior to make it our church home, with many members offering their time and talent to help in the process!

We are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization licensed by the State of Texas. Our By-laws are in accordance with those recommended by the Association of Unity Churches. We rely solely on the donations of our church members and friends who support our church with their financial offerings.

Reverend Diane E. Plamondon, Ph.D., retired from full-time church ministry in December of 2000. She is now our Minister Emeritus. After a thorough and complete search, we hired and welcomed Reverend Stephen Horn as our minister in May of 2001. Prayer continues to be the cornerstone of our church. We continue to seek God’s inspiration and guidance as we look to be the light of God expressing through our church into our community!
